Turbo timer - car shuts off as soon as I turn the key

Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum.

Just wanted to check if anyone has seen a similar problem.

I have an Apexi turbo timer and I am using AEM EMS.
I have my turbo timer set to 40 sec
When I turn the key to the off position, then most of the time the engine stops running but the turbo timer is counting down.
Every once in a while the turbo timer works normally.

I have had the turbo timer for 2 years and 1 year with the AEM EMS.
I first noticed this issue after the upgrades I did this winter which were, a new motor , clutch, fuel system and ignition system.
I have checked everything I can think of but without any luck.

any info appreciated

regards
Gudmundur

Wink I have the same turbo timer.

Yes, I would also check all the wiring just to make sure everything is correct. I have the skeleton clear apexi turbo timer and I just got it installed recently. I was lucky enough to have my tuner install it for me since I am not experienced with the wiring and stuff. It was a breeze for him to install. After you check it out and if it still gives you trouble, I would take it for a second opinion. good luck my friend.

really i would just remove it completely... turbo timers are just not needed for these cars.

^^ how is that so??
The owners manual clearly states to leave the car at idle for a couple of minutes after driving it hard.... Turbo timer is like having a keyless entry. keyless: you can open or lock your car from far away so you don't have to go do it manually... TT: It saves the hassle of staying in the car for the turbo to cool off.
Thank you...

For the OP... It's most likely the wiring. Double check the wire that goes to the handbrake especially.. I had that problem and rewired the handbrake wire and it's working normal now. But just check everything.

^don't be ignorant... if you aren't redlining and instantly turning off the ignition (i.e. no one) then you're wasting $100... feel free to add an unnecessary contraption to your interior though, i'm sure it looks neat and all.

are you taking the car out of gear first? I know mine wont work unless the car is in neutral with the clutch out.....

There is no way that you can leave the car running except in neutral, that is if you are planning on leaving the car.

My car is quite far from being stock, but it is daily driven and I like the idea of the turbo being a bit colder when the car shuts off.

ps: I am btw running a HTA35R

That should be the same as unplugging the battery from the car ?
I assume .. I unplugged the battery last night and the car did it after that aswell.

I may though try this just to check it
