Unhappy Installed EMS, Evo won't start

Hey guys,

We've installed the EMS (1313U), converted the car to speed density, made sure the firmware was updated to 1.03, loaded the 1313 MAP calibration, made sure everything was set up right (sensors, etc.).

Now, the moment of truth...
Turn key, turns over longer than normal (as expected)...
Fires, sputters, dies....
We even loaded the virgin calibration from the AEM cd, and still the same thing.

Any insight as to what is wrong? Did we miss something? We read the instructions, over and over. The car will start but does not want to stay lit, and we can smell fuel. We removed #2 and #3 spark plugs and they were slightly moist, but not soaking wet. I figure it has to be something with timing, but I'm no pro by any means. Do we have to play with the engine start timing advance at all?

We don't get it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The basemap timing should work. Try around 10 degrees in your base ignition map and 15 deg for crank. Other than that, it is probably the fueling.

Give us a call; we can send you a map with high driveability and work some things out if you like.

here is the thread on the AEM forum. We ended up sending the unit and the 5 bar map sensor back to the vendor. Hopefully we can get something figured out.
