First off sorry I'm typing this on my phone.

I just got my car back together, fully built 2.0, 9:1 cr, s2 cams. That's really the only things that have changed

I am using the same injectors, and map I was before, I did change to an Evo 8 disc and cam trigger wheel from an Evo 4 before. But I am getting Stat sync, I know I'm getting fuel, I can smell it and I get a big fireball every 4th or 5th revolution

I'm at a loss. These are the trigger disc and cam wheel that go to an Evo 8 I know for sure. I made sure in the cam/crank setup wizard to choose Evo 8 again just in case.

I've tried playing with the throttle while cranking to see if fuel was too much or too little. I cranked it up at the 0 throttle range and slowly depressed while cranking. No change.

I'm going to check my engine timing to see if I got off a tooth or something, though I used cam lockers to set it. .

 

Engine is definitely in time.
I'm getting spark on Cyl 1 and 2 for sure. About to check 3 and 4

Cyl 3 and 4 also have spark.
I guess I could have the cam wheel reversed. . . Though I installed it exactly as the fsm specified to do which I believe was with the smaller tooth in the bottom right when the cam was lined up with the TDC mark.

 

It was base ignition timing. It had to be wayyyyyy retarded for the Evo 4 to run, so I just cranked it and advanced it until it wanted to start.... Now it sounds so awesome!

Can't wait to get this thing tuned by tscompusa!
