Red face How to brute force fat fingered password.

Tuned the car on the dyno after 3 hours password was put on the ecu AEM v2
and lol well now the car is running like *** and i went to do some logs.
Guess what cant for the life of me remember the the password. So therefor i had to have entered it incorrectly from the beginning.

Has anyone successfully recovered the tune with locked ecu?

I would pay for information to bypass/unlock or remove a password without wiping all the information off the Ecu.

AEM should be able to reset your password without a factory restore. If they can't, that is a fundamental flaw in their design.

What are you looking to do? At this point you might as well just pay someone to re-tune it. What's your set up? Can you get a base map and go from there?

The whole point of that password is to protect the tune from unauthorized copying or modification. Among other things it prevents a client from modifying the tune, blowing the engine, changing it back and blaming the tuner for it. If you could just remove it without resetting the tune it would completely defeat the original purpose of having a password in the first place. Sorry, I know it sucks but you're gonna have to start over. Don't set a password this time, or if you do write it down somewhere. Password managers are great for this.
