I will be going to Japan and Taiwan on business in about a month and would like to survey local Evo scene. More specifically, I will be in Tokyo and Taiching/Kao-shiang.

I would like to find out what is offered in the local market, and whether it would be cheaper to acquire some stuff - like Cusco, HKS, A-pexi, Greddy, etc - locally. Any suggestions from local denizens? Thanks!

Most HKS,Greddy(Trust),Cusco,A-pexi Stuff in Taiwan are more expensive than USA, only the stuff made in Taiwan may cheaper than here. I went back Taiwan every year, been a lot tuning shop and their price on those parts are 20% more than here.
But you may find good price in Japan tho. 10%-20% cheaper. Good luck !!

I am located in HK. Been to both Japan and Taiwan.

Taiwan doesn't have that many Evos yet... and Im not so sure about the scene. But they have some auto parts stores, franchises from Japan. The most famous one AutoBacs, which is like a grocery store for import car junkies. There's another store near that one like 2 blocks away. Unfortunately I can't remember the name but ask AutoBacs. Hopefully you speak some mandarine cos the english is not so good there. But if you find your way to the shop, finger pointing will work. Prices here are more than Hong KOng, but may be less than the overseas markets. If you are in town, why not try your luck.

Japan is so spread out, it's hard to find anything unless you know the language. Once again I suggest AutoBacs. Also pick up a local tuner mag like OPtions and you'll see lots of adds in there for tuner shops. Try your luck at locating one.

I am currently living in Taiwan and they have alot of accessories here but if its name brand im sure its cheaper in other countries. Just bought a Evo 8 here so I am still looking for a good tuner. If you live in Taipei hit me up, fecking bored here!
