Okinawa Bound

Anyone on here in Okinawa? I'm heading there in August, and looking forward to it.

So, what does the evo market look like over there? I'll need to get a car or two for the four years or so I'll be stationed at Kadena AB.

Try not to hang around Gate 2 area much..yes its fun and full of bars but cars are much more fun.. Okin. has a good car seen..you will find lots of guys on base with all kinds of rides..you will see lots of drift set ups. Intresting history note..keep your eyes on the mountains you will spot wwII japanese bunkers if you have a sharp eye.
ON a not so good note..don't **** off the locals..Marines managed to rape another 13y.o. girl and **** everyone off. So depending on what branch you are in expect some restrictions.

Fortunately, I'm in the AF. Hopefully they will cut me some slack.

Then def. watch you butt in the gate 2 area..they ( the command) will expect higher standards from you than the sailors or marines. When I was there it seemed the AF had a pretty easy time of it..but they did have unmarked cops patroling gate 2 area..they did have a pretty strict policy about being out in that area between midnight and like 6am...but that was YEARS ago..but expect some restrictions either way..Check the lemmon lot on base you can sometimes find nice cars for sale from people leaving for a pretty good price.

Thanks for the info! If the Gate 2 area is what I think it is...well, I'm married, so I may not be hanging around much there.

Another question: Is the us-version of the PS3 compatible with the Japanese format tv's?

That should work just fine. If you live on base though you will need a transformer for a Japanese format TV.

I'm here in Okinawa now. The only newer EVO I've seen is an EVO VIII converted to look like an EVO VII. He works on base somewhere. Have you hit up the local forum, Zeroyon? Good place to find super cheap parts for whatever setup you run.
