Hey ive started to take apart the rear cut, and found this little electronic box, "OMRON mr123938 etc..." looks like it is a genuine part (not mitsi) and its got a coax arial out and a cable plug.

Could this be satellite tracking, what else has an antenna and is in the boot, in that compartment behind the fuel cap.

If its an mr number then it genuine. It may be a aerial signal booster I'll ask a few of the evo coupe boys. have you got a pic of it?

ok what the people that i asked said it could be a keyless entry unit but now you got a pic i'll reask as i havent come across it before.

damn, that is quite a bit different to the one they put in the drivers door
the description i gave you on evocoupe was from the '96 version of the parts database

Update

New seals, belts and h/duty brass button clutch, have been installed! The engine is nearly ready to be put in!

hey i just fitted a evo2 motor to my gsr.
so just to confirm Yes the motor will hit the bonnet unless you.
get a different enging mount or modify the existing (just the timing cover side mount) or..
get a evo bonnet or some how modify the existing some how.

if you havent already found out.

Just put in a Evo2 Motor, G/box, Rear Diff. (just a few weeks ago)
Mods: OS Giken Super Single Clutch, 3" Turbo Back Exh, Bigger Front Mount I/C , Pod Filter , Hks SSQV, Turbo Smart Dual stage Boost control (im only running standard boost at the moment untill i know the motor etc is 100%)
Body: Evo3 frontBar, Evo 3 Bonnet ,Evo6 Wing, 16" Rims , Lowered 2".
Interior: Alpine Indash Dvd/Tv , Alpine Front splits & 12" sub and mono 500w amp.
boost & oil guages

soon to come: hopfully 18" rims , Link ECU , evo Front Breaks with slotted rotors.

Thats about all i can think of off the top of my head

good to hear its coming along mate, i know that feeling of working then on the car, as well as i play sport. Not enough hours in the day
what turbo are you going to be running??


and gsr07 that sounds pretty sweet, how is the 2ltr going? what turbo have you got??

2lt is great.
way better than the 1.8. the 2lt on std boost feels better than the 1.8 running on 15psi.
and turbo is std evo tdo5.

here is sum picks for ya.
