No twin turbo's or 2.5L. Only subaru need that kind of enhancement to get the cars moving....

Is it the real evo 9 or the Oz version that is really an evo8 with the ralliart ecu and exhaust ?? December last year...the 9 only came out in Japan in April this year. I've also read that Oz Mitsubishi are trying to do the same after market parts stuff as Ralliart UK with there FQ versions but not to the same extent.
Also remember that the 100 evolutions (evo8) for this year have already landed so legally they can not bring any across any more untill next year even if it is the new model. I have heard that you may be able to start ordering evo9's in September this year for 2006 arrivals.

Yep the IX for sure - my friend has been involved in the emmisions testing. The cars are here long before they are released.....the magna (new one ) has been doing rounds for testing for ages now......(almost a year). Remember that Mitsi Japan released it to the public an April this year - that doesnt mean the car was finished Feb this year!

If we are talking Australian Evo IX (being the aussie evo side of evom) the rumours all point to the IX being here for sale as a fully imported and mass sale car by the end of the year.

Emissions testing on the car is one thing, but as with the 8 - the JDM car was brought over very early but it was found that the emissions and many other aspects were hard to meet ADRs. AFAIK Mitsu want to bring a closer to JDM spec IX, but it may take longer to get approved which I am sure Mitsu are happy to wear.

On a related note, there have been some issues with the IXs regarding the strength and durability of the 6speed gearboxes and the new turbo. These may hold back the release of the IX into australia as well - as this is a wide spread set of issues.

Personally I see it coming in 2006 - may/june

in regards to the issues with the gearbox and turbos is this a result of the gradual softening of the evo in the later releases to appeal to your more refined user in the market place

I heard pretty much the same things from my mates and other people and like you said they were gona be mass produced, emission problems etc... but one question is on my mind. I'd be very happy if the car comes here in mid 2006 because im going to buy one and i'd be very dissapointed if we get a 5 speed gsr like the limited edition evo 8's in the previous years. Please somebody tell me we are getting a 6 speed. :|

You say that the IX is having some issues with the 6 speed twin scroll and mivec are they speculations or do you have details about the three, for they are definately the changes made from the VIII to IX and I find it hard to believe that they are having troubles with all the changes. as we all know Mits is the most advanced and best engineered of the 4wd turbo class can you elaborate further?

Mpower as you have proven in your comments in the group buy thread your info is corrupted and Nunnawading mitsu is eastside mitsubishi and the proprioter to that dealership is Chris Hingston whom I have met and is a shady character to say the least he is telling you this because he is stuck with so many VIII's its in his best interest to lead the public to believe the IX does not arrive till 2006 so he can sell his VIII's oh and further more he will not be a Ralliart dealer 2006 and will not have the EVO IX to sell. The 3 dealerships in melb are going to be Chadstone, Frankston and Melton.

Regards
