CC Lancer 1.5 carby question
1995 Lancer GLS (NZ model) with the 4G15 running one of those Aisan variable venturi carbs (pics at this link http://www.nardek.com.au/aisan-lancer-m.htm)
There is a 16mm spacer plate between the carb and the manifold - is it there just to raise the carb height so the air cleaner housing can bolt to the rocker cover, or does it serve some other purpose?
I'm not using the stock air cleaner anymore so is there anything to be gained or lost from removing the spacer plate? Improved flow to the engine or would taking it off stuff up the flow?
Cheers!
Jim.

if there is no hoses or anything coming from the baseplate then its ok to remove it, but check that first but failing that i would have to say its to space the carby up so the airfilter sits properly
