EVO IX options

Hey guys, thinking of a new EVO IX....

What factory options are worth getting?

Here in Aust the options are:

non adjustable bilstein coilovers
vortex generator (inc downforce +2kg)
CF rear wing lip attachment (inc downforce +4kg)
adjustable weight gear knob (!!)
BBS rims instead of enkei (1.1kg lighter)

and the usual

mats
scuff plates

I'm just thinking it's better off to get aftermarket coilovers that are height and bound/rebound adjustable (like Tein flex with EDFC) and get my own aftermarket light weight rims.....

opinions pls! Thx!

Same funkyR from clubrsx???

If u like the bbs rims, u better get them when u get da car.

I heard that the rims cost $1000 each if u wanna get them
after purchasing the car.

Downforce stuff only works when ur going 200km/hr.....ive only reached that
speed once..hehe.....but the vortex generator looks cool.

Same..

The sports pack is very good for the money as the rims cost about $1300 each with out tyres.. Haven't heard of anyone getting rid of their bilsteins yet..but I guess it all depends on the direction you want to modify the car to. You can fell the difference with the vortex gen through corners at high speed and on the straights, as it improves air flow over the rear wing.. so also having the lip you would have greater down force again.

Just remember to keep the price below the luxury tax bracket or you get hit with even more tax.

All the best GAZ

lol.... same darky from.... er..... dunno

I havent actually ordered the evo (as in signed the papers) but it's kinda complicated..... but if things work out I could be a fellow evo IX owner in the next week or two....

yeah the vortex generator looks cool! I plan to track the car (as you probably know me from clubrsx).... so dont know how bang for buck those options are.... might be worth getting some tein flex with EDFC instead.....

evo ix options

most of what your describe comes on the "sport"model which also has all leather recarros, i have a nine which has the koni's which are adjustable, not even the dealer knows what they are selling, must of the other stuff you desribe doen't make it go any better, which beleive me can at times be mindblowing!

All evo 9s come with leather... it was the evo 8 which had this option.... koni adjustables??? they are aftermaket as mitsubishi doesn't use them at all on any vehicles because of contracts with other companies... The aero parts do make a difference over 150 - 200km/hr the fronts work great in mid cornering and the vortex on long highspeed straights like Qld raceway as it makes the car more stable at 180+km..
