Rattle In Ya Rear-View?
I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem with a Stereo-equiped Lancer/ any car.
I have two 12" Subs, & since about a month after they were installed, the mirror-glass of the rear-view has rattled loose! It rattles annoyingly with every base hit, & seriously deducts from SQ (as well as being impossible to see out of!). I've already had it replaced once on warrantee and it started again within a week.
I can only assume it's because the mirror is mounted directly to the windsreen.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, & how they got around it? As far as I can see, there are only 2 options.. replace it with one from another car which will not do the same.. or drill a hole & fill the exsisting one with something like foam-a-fill, to cushion the glass in the surround.
Any other suggestions?

the only thing i could do is learn to do deal with it.. it happens.. and there isnt nuttin to be done to fix it.. except take the subs out..
sorry !
otherwise superglue the mirror to the angle you need it.. but then you'll lose using it..
Pete.

Sorry,no, it's not the whole mount that moves, just the glass inside the mount. Effectively, the glass has just rattled loose from whatever holds it in (I'd assume it's glued).
Did u have the same problem?

i'm runnin two 12 HE2s my mirror is off it fell off while i was cruizin and played some club music it hit some crazy bass and BAM rear view mirror fell off did it twice more and i decided that i cant stand it anymore so now i have no rear view mirror, is tat ileagel?
I run 2 12's, had the same problem. First the mirror fell of the window, got it put back on. Then the glass rattaled like ****, so i put a drop of super glue in each courner, fixed! Just make sure it is only a very small drop or you will see it. Good luck

the CC's have the mirror bolted onto roof.. if you feel like a cheap and easy mod.. i'd advise that if youve gotta big stereo..

Actually dude, I just went & had a look, and I don't think it would be too easy changeing the rear-view to a roof mount.. @ least neatly. It would probly require cutting the roof lining wouldn't it?

ok, dunno if this'll help, if you can, split the mirror so you have a front and back, and insert bluetack bewteen the mirror and other bit.. you may need a spare to try it out..
