selling price for an MR

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone could tell me how much (realistically) I could get for my 2000 MR. It's done under 20000kms and has only a few mods such as exhaust and air filter. It also has tinted windows and a new set of 16" ROH Adrenalin rims with Yokohama tyres. The car is basically in "as new" condition. What do you guys think?

I believe that the redbook takes a little more off the cars value in some cases. Realistically I think you could sell it for $17,000 - $18,000. You have to remember it might take some time to sell as the buyer may not be looking for a MR they might be looking for a coupe in general, which you can pick up for $16,000 (GLi) new. Remember extras do not add value to the car they only make it sell faster. Good luck if you decide to go through.

You also have to take into consideration the price of a brand new Lancer. If most people had the choice between a new car and a second hand car for similar prices, they would be more inclined to spend a little more and get the new car.
I hope it goes well anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping for around $17000 -$18000 - private sale. I am in no rush to sell so if it takes a while to get a good price then thats ok. I won't mention what car will be replacing my beloved MR cos you probably will all bag me!!!!!

Your getting a WRX right? If so I realy hope you have done your homework. I wish you all the best, but please be aware of the pitfalls.

Busted! A WRX it is. I know, I know they have their problems but I have always loved them. I was going to turbo charge my car but it seems like a lot of money and a lot of trouble. I will be taking my time to find one that is in good condition.

Trust me. Turbocharging your Lancer is well worth it if you do your homework. One of the best things with a turbo Lancer is seeing the looks on the faces of the people you flog the *** out of off the line. I have had my Lancer on the road for almost 3 months now after I had it turbocharged, and I have still yet to tire of it.

Plus there's the fact that its different. While the WRX is quite a powerful car, everyone has one, so it has to be something special to stand out. However, the choice is yours.

Yeah I agree with you 100% the new look WRX is awesome. I actually looked into buying one, but added everything up in my head and looked into everything and decided not to go ahead with it. But if you do, still come back here and tell us how things are going.
