2007 ES Lancer (aus)

Hi guys, i'm new to this forum, just bought a CH ES lancer, its red as you will see in the pictures. i appologise for the crap front on pictures. Just some history, I live in melbourne and used to drive a '89 Mazda 626 turbo, however last year i was cleaned up by a postman driving a xr8. I'm pleased to say that I am very happy with the lancer. The 2.4L Mivec really goes, although there isn't a turbo to entertain my ears and my right foot, it's still fun and i'll get over it (perhaps).

atm everything is factory except the tint, some handling modifications would make the car even better

Anyways finally got my hand on a camera so here are some pictures of my ride.

More thumbs of pics at imageshack.us.
Hope this helps you decide on tint stEVOx

Welcome aboard
Can you take a pic of your grill close up? can't see if there is a mesh pattern behind it. The chrome wouldn't suit mine (its yellow) but it does look better than '06 VRX grill from what I can see

Yeah i got mine in early Jan 07, everything is the same except the grill. The sales lady did say that they may have tweaked the engine abit to give it 8.8L/100km, (i get 9.3L/100km if i'm driving easy and 10.3L/100km if i give it a slightly more aggressive right foot), so apart from that its practically the same.

It was end of year sales, the model i got, came with alloys and the spoiler. I traded the stock allow rims for the ones on my car to prevent me from ricing up my ride, lol. So yeah they're Mitsubishi rims but they're not the ones that supposed to come with it.

oh yeah ryan this is my grill up close, i'm not sure if you can swap the grill between models, Sorry that it is so dirty

IM still unsure if i like the update frontends or not ....

As for petrol, dunno what they're talking about there ... i didnt think there was ANY mechanical differences for the mivec update! I get just under 9L/100kms doing all freeway driving if i try not to rev over 3000rpm .

welcome to the site you are in luck if you are wanting to hear the sounds of a turbo in your engine bay - as for what fuel I run I run 98ron and I am getting better fuel economy running the turbo than when I was factory stock... not sure how mitsubishi think they are going to give you more fuel economy as far as I know there is no reflash available for our cars..

but goodluck and safe driving in the car

The newer front end does make it look like a nissan maxima abit, it looks less agressive. I should have got your model, i would have been able to squeeze alot more out of mitsubishi.

As for fuel consumption i've hit 4000km and i'm getting 9.2L/100km using 95RON. They said they made some engine tweeks, but i reckon its the same and that its just a marketing tool.

I wish I drove forced induction its so much more interesting than N/A, how long does it take to drive down to WA from melb lol...

Welcome to the site!

You have a nice 07 model!

Two big aftermarket guys for our cars are:

www.rpw.com.au - Australian
www.roadracemotorsports.com - United States.

Both are very good and provide turbos for our cars. Reviews, searches and everything you want to know is right here on Evom!

yeah i really like the tint. makes my windows look dirtier now though, LOL... I'm having a really bad run with my car. First the interior of the driver side door was scratched when i got it (its now fixed but it took ages to convince mitsubishi that the car is suposed to be clean when i get it), then the weather shields leaked (now fixed but same problem as the door, the guy goes thats just the way they are...what bs)... :S... now my front windows on the driver side and passenger side are rattling. might take it back to the tint place to get it fixed up because i have a few bubbles but its under warranty and they'll give me loan car for the free. dun really want to go back to mitsubishi who will try and do everything they can not to fix me car :S

I wanna drive my missus to some wineries in vic for easter, the windows will really S**t me off though....
