that is the X1 excell isn't it.

I used to own an X2 excell which is much the same as an X1 so I know exactly how you feel.

If I was you I would save every penny you have and buy a new car, you wont regret it.

as for the topic I think they do give about 60kw's.

Good luck

ummm i have no idea, just a excel ls, sumthin crap like that...i see u got a cg lancer now, that must be like 100% more powerful...i was wondering what is the quicker of the two....a 1.8L lancer coupe (98-00) or a lancer cg 2.0L....because even tho it does have a bigger engine, it is alot more heavier isnt it

I personally have not driven the 1.8 so I would not be able to answer your question from experience.

BUt in my opinion when you are comparing weight to engine capacity 0.2 of a litre is not going to make very much difference in terms of weight. But when you are talking power 0.2 of a litre is alot.

I could be wrong but I think that there would be more power coming out of the 2.0 litre engine.

MInd you the CE is a smaller car and does not weigh as much as the CG so the difference in power could be evened out.

Just my opion.

Unfortunately the 2.0L engine in the newer version CG Lancer in not enough to compensate for the extra weight. The simple facts are the CG is 150kg heavier and only 6kw more powerful than the CE Lancer. I have driven both models extensively and well I am still driving the CE. Which is a shame because Mitsubishi could have done so much better.

2 litre disgrace

The new 2.0 litre engine used in the CG lancer is an absolute disgrace. I for one thought that would finally enter the 1980's and use a twincam engine in it's latest lancer model, they didn't. What is worse is that although they increased the capacity of the engine by over 10%, the power/torque increased by around 5%. Not only that but they added a hefty 150ish kg's to the car.

The fact that a rival Japanese car maker can produce 100kW out of their economy 1.8 and mitsu can only manage 92kW out of a 2.0 is a sheer disgrace. This latest Lancer is a POS in regards to looks as well as performance. MIstubishi should hang their heads in shame and busy themselves with designing a twincam16 powerplant that befits the lancer name.

just look at the new Coralla Sportivo! 141kw out of 1.8L... Mitsu should wake up to themselves and atleast bring the VRX out with a new and improved MIVEC like the Jap MR!

there should be a new model coming soon with a 2.4 MIVEC and around 120 kw. don't know when its coming to AUS though.
I'm a bit pissed off at mitsubishi as well, to me a 2.0 engine should have at least 100 kw, but the car was developed while the company was facing financial difficulties so I'll forgive them this time. but next time...
there are other cars in the same boat though, the Subaru Imprezza's 2.0 also makes 92 kw and the previous model Camry's 2.2 made 94 kw.

:O oh my god...2.4 mivec, how sweet is that going to be!!! im just about to buy a 1.8L, i think i still will coz everyone seems to recommend them. hmm aslong as the new 2.4 model dont look the same as the cg's (no offense everyone )and it goes back to a nice shape, then thatll be awesome. just wish i had more money but also, we could be waiting like atleast another year or 2 for this new model to hit australia hey
