CC Cluster Swap (rexhunta?)
#16
Ok, well I guess if you swapped in original speedo mechanism to a different faceplate that would explain. Any luck swapping odometer mechanics to different speedo gearing? I get the feeling that if I tried it would explode with spring flying everywhere.
Also worth mentioning, the plug in the dash that goes into the cluster, that has the white with silver bits wire on the right prong for the tacho signal, the same coloured wire that comes from the dizzy, but doesn't connect somehow in the loom. Did any coupe cc lancer have a tacho?
Also what is the "redline" for our 4g15 engine?
thanks

I swapped the odometre mechanics as well, the actual problem is the speed gear in the gearbox itself.. the 1.5 carby has a different gearing to the AWD 1.8 box..
a safe redline is 6500 rpm. ( according to the gregorys manual). The CC Carbys don't have the wire to the loom in the dash ( as if you trace the back of the wiring loom to the actual unit, the wire itself is missing).
