Question point out the obvious!!

i recently fitted a o2 RUSH pod air filter to my mitsubishi lancer 2.0l vrx with no luck, the car ran ok, but it had no power when driving and then decided to stall when warm.

I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 15min and then retrying but it made no difference.

After putting the factory one back on it worked fine!!

whats the go with it? any one got any ideas?

do i have to get a different MAS??

hmmm sounds weird, perhaps playing around with the throttle would help a bit? you obdviously have air flow problems, Just try to adjust it or get a K&N filter

yeahh ive experienced the same dude, but have got around the problem by adjusting the throttle body..

youll need a flat head screw driver and youll find on top of the throttle body you have to adjust is covered with black rubber which you have to pull out ....once adjusting youll notice the idle either gets louder or at acceptable, drive around and come to a full stop a few times and see how idle goes until it doesnt stall anymore..

Airflow through pod?

By replacing the filter, did you remove the air sensor? I guess keeping the sensor on with the new filter might defeat the purpose of putting it on, though that may have been the problem (no air sensor = cpu freaking out).

My cordia will start with the sensor disconnected.

I think you should either try the throttle body tune, or whack your other air box in, pop down to mitsi and install it in front of them ( if your car is outta warranty) and ask them if they know a fix, if not, MitsiMan (Dave from RPW) maybe able to help you..

I have heard that this can happen. I have never had the problem, but apparently the air flow sensor isn't reading properly as the air is turbulent across it. The standard filter box stops the air and makes it flow straight down the pipe to the throttle body, but the pod filter makes the are swirl and this interferes with the sensors reading. Well at least that's what i've heard. If this is the problem the only pod filter that will work is a special K&N filter, from memory a 57i series.

the K&N or an Apexi cone filter does the same as the k&n!
