MRTPerformance Kits?

Hey Guys,

New to this forum and recently got a 2003 JDM EVO VIII.

My friend has told me to go and get a tune from MRT.

Does anyone know about the kits they offer and what they consist of? All i can find is the price.

XA kits are between $1490 to $1990
XB kits are between $3870 and $5190
XC kits are between $6290 and $9879

Or does any one suggest other places in Sydney to get a good tune? For me, just looking for something better than stock, in power and handling probably not going to take it to the track and it's just a weekend car for a cruise.

(if this has been asked before, please direct me to the link)

Thanks!

I would definately stay away from MRT. They wrecked my Evo, and charged me an outragous price for doing so.

Also the 100% money back gaurantee they offer is all talk. They promise you the world and deliver nothing. They are a bigger bunch of tools than the eqipment in their workshop

Get a remote tune. Contact Chris at Pure Drive Performance.

http://www.puredriveperformance.com/

The man is a brilliant tuner. $225 US for a single MAF tune (ie 98 octane or E85). Get a high flow 3" exhaust and a high flow drop in filter and your car will be a weapon. Chris is currently tuning my FP Black, R2 cammed Evo9 and is getting close to 500hp on 98 octane fuel, with no knock. My car drives better than stock and goes like stink. You will need to get a 1.3u cables so your laptop can speak to your car.

All tuning is done via emails. As an example - You would be asked to log a 3rd gear wide open throttle (wot) run. You email this log to your tuner, the tuner looks to see where improvments can be made to fueling, timing, boost etc, makes adjustments to the program that controls your car (rom) and emails it to you. You flash this to your car via the cable and take another log. Chris even takes remote control of your computer and sets it all up for you. This system works really well and gets great results.

Just a quick note, you might have to contact Chris to see what is possible for your car. Being an Evo9 my car is probably more tuneable than yours, still worth contacting a remote tuner to see what can be done. Cheers

Just saw this. Thanks fireescape!

I mainly tune Evo 8/9. I've looked into the other Evo's like the X and Ralliart. They don't seem that difficult. Let me know if you have any questions. Click on my website below for more info and prices.
