yeah we could be wrong, but it looks pretty much the same as mine, maybe the guy that sold you it didn't know what he was talking bout, was it a used car sales man? 95% of them don't have a clue.
you could contact Mitsubishi and ask em if it came with a 2L coz i doubt anyone would bother doing an engine transplant to a 2L, doesnt seem really worth the effort unless they blew up there engine or something, but i doubt it.

Find your engine number.. thats the way we can tell properly.. they'll be another plate usually on the bonnet itself that'll have a few digits, then 4G** on it.. thats the one..

It actually says on your registration papers how big the engine is.
If the rego papers say something like 1997cc, (they have to declare it when they transfer it over to you) but you find out it is a 1.8L engine, you can take it back to them and ask for restitution.
