Basically both.. poor girl was using the hill to gain speed, and then held it high in the rev range..

I'm sure if you give it a long enough track, it'll push out all 5 gears.. try the nullabour next time the close it for the annual race

Yes... It's all the lactic acid and lack of available sugar in the blood...

Engines don't get tired. But is it overheating? That would cause it to pull timing, dump more fuel, and generally lose power.

Hahahaha... I'm not going that extreme yet. Got the car back now. The mechanic and I went for a drive on free way. After awhile we switch.. and he drives it hard, well IMO. I think he pressed the pedal harder than me. I rarely flat out the pedal, usually just a gentle touch and never got 80% pressed. He told me to press harder.. it's not how hard to press, but the actual rpm that matters... So press the pedal hard until you get the decent rpm for the next gear. And that decent RPM can be quite high !!!!

So there isnt anything majorly wrong for your car? I quite often go foot to the floor when accelerating... then again, with a 4G15, 1.5L, you kinda need to go hard to keep up with the traffic.... LOL

Nothing wrong, but the fuel consumption increases when I'm driving with that style ... Never mind, nothing's wrong with driving slowly on the street. Track is different case though

I'm scared to go fast, my tires start making funny sounds and since I give them hell already I'm not going to risk it

Sorry, just asking a stupid question, are you saying your Lancers max out at 170 or you haven't had it at to 170?
Ive had my GLi (1.8, 2000 model) at 185.. country road, fairly deserted, but still, only 170? wtf?
Just wondering why these people have Evo's and turbo's if they never use them.

Cos we're God fearing, law abiding people

Actually, I use my turbo every day - but I could go to 260km/h without a turbo, and I use my turbo to change lanes safely. Top Speed and turbos have nothing to do with each other.

Sorry, I had always figured turbo's for high speeds, rather than major acceleration. I stand corrected.

Btw: Make that 190km/h.
