As we know, the stereo in the cars are pretty terrible as can seen below and do not follow the car's lighting theme.

I was wondering what people are looking to get to fill in their single din space. Keeping in mind the EVO has red/orange back lighting.

Also we are not sure what the 6 speaker system is.

I have looked into Alipne but have no confirmation of a unit yet that can have a red light theme to it.

I know the Clarion range does change colours as I put one in WRX before I sold it.

After having done some extensive stereo install work in my Evo4 WRX (all ALPINE), I have decided I wont go the full twin sub, full amp enclosure system again. Sounded unbelievable but the weight slowed the car down too much.

I may do mine in stages with the deck to go first with MD changer (if possible), then the speakers, then a concealed and out-of-the-way amp install, then maybe some base engines under the seats.

My BMW 323i's instruments have black faces with red lighting so I also wanted to match that colour with a new stereo. In the end I chose a VDO CD-138, only a basic system and not what you would be wanting but they do have others. Anyway it is just a sugestion that you can look into if you can't find anything else.

I forgot about the VDO systems. Maybe they may be a goer in the short term when money is at a premium. I have a friend who sells VDO gear so I will give him a call and see what he can sort out.
