The main advantage is that if you're going too fast as you go around the cone you won't plow in to the front of the next cone. Instead you'll just end up further behind to cone like this...

Not bad. The course was a little tight but fun. It was tricky for me because I haven't learned how to drive a slow course well. That place is way smaller than I was expecting. My brother got 3rd in Novice. I'm going to run novice next time. I want a shirt and running against jeremy and Jon and Ken no way I'll get one. Good learning experience though.

Pennington is a tough course. Small and slow.
RESULTS ARE UP!!
Justin, your best time was 34.745 on your 2nd run.
The BSP pax is .859 so your PAX time would be 29.846.
If you had run in the TIRE PAX class, you would have been 7th out of 8. So good decision not going there. The winners were BS, HS, and GS respectively. the HS car ran a second slower than your raw time but had a pax time of 1 second faster than you. Shows you how much faster you'd have to go to win the TIRE PAX class.
However, if you had run Novice, you would have won 1st place by 0.315 seconds and had a trophy in your hand.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda....

Yeah its all good. I had a good time and that's all that matters.
I'll get a shirt one day.
It's amazing how much faster I'd have to be to win PAX. Maybe with more seat time. I should get plenty of it this year.
I don't know why I was thinking Jon and Jeremy were in BSP. It was just me and Ken.

I went karting yesterday. $65 for 3 10+ minute sessions. No tires, brakes, or other expenditures (food, I guess). No ******** cones.
Hmm... autocross isn't looking so good any more
Plus I think that Jeremy is now far better than I ever was.

Let me know next time you go. I really really want to do this.
I don't know about that. You were usually (but not always) faster than me and I'm only somewhat better than I used to be. After I get my car fixed (a mere $2K away) you can let me return the favor of when you let me drive yours long ago and see what you can do. I'll be sure you get a cushy work assignment like handing out stickers or something...
