SCCA Pro Solo - Mineral Wells, TX 04/13/2013
Howdy from Houston, my North Texas brethren!
Anyone thinking of doing the Pro Solo event at Mineral Wells this year?
I've done autocross before and absolutely despised it. Several hours of standing in the Texas sun, picking up cones (or worse: working the front gate), to get a total of four 60-second runs.
Then I found track days (busting my cherry at MSR-Cresson) and never looked back. But track days are expensive when consumables are included. And Evos have a healthy appetite for tires and brakes!
So, anyway, I saw some Pro Solo stuff and it looks kind of interesting. Can anyone with some experience tell me how an event weekend goes down? Do you have to fetch cones?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

If you've only autocrossed once or twice I wouldn't reccomend doing a SCCA national event. You don't get much seat time and the competition is stiff. I don't recall how ProSolos work but national tours are usually two days. 3 runs a day and they take your best time from day 1 and day 2 and combine them. You work one heat for each heat you race (once per day).
