What else should I get Eric?

I have my GT 3071 Turbo coming. along with your WI kit
Current:
3" turbo back
Uego
boost gauge
MBC
some other stuff but it is getting replaced with your Turbo kit

I am also planning on
780cc Injectors
head studs
Xede w/ smart chip
280 cams
exedy twin plate clutch

my question is, with cams should I be getting valves or valve springs... anything like that? to strengthen up the head or is it not needed at this power level?

Valve springs and retainers would deffinetly help your cause. other then that your mod path is very good. Anything to add a little security blanket is a good thing.

Wouldn't he want the bottom end done then if he is doing the valvesprings and such in order to rev high?

Or just to be safer revving to redline?

exacty, Im not recomending them because he wants to raise his redline. More so for a safety issue with those aggressive cams.

I thought all HKS cams were designed to run with the stock valve train and that only cams with more lift needed to upgrade the valve train...

You're going down a very similar path to what I've done to my car. You will need to decide whether you want to run the stock airbox (which will mean custom fabrication of an intake pipe that can accomodate MAF, recirc BOV, and stock airbox), or running with the AMS cone intake. The cone intake will require a custom tune, but you're going to need that anyways with the kit you're going with...

they can run with the stock valvetrain just fine. But if you are looking to make it as safe as possible springs and retainers cant hurt. no they are not "required"

Or go ahead and drop 1800 and get AMS to do your head, then get the bottom end done at the same time and have a bulletproof motor from them. Then you can hold the power you have and reduce shift amount and rev out the 1/4 to 9k.

When you do springs and retainers for the Evo are you setup to do the job without pulling the head?

Also what springs and retainers do you stock? To be honest I couldn't find any springs/retainer sets on your Evo web pages.
