Need help FAST.

K, am installing an AMS 35r turbo kit on an Evo, and realized the DP that came with the turbo kit is a 3 bolt flange on the o2 housing side which is normal cause it is a 3 bolt end, and also the car is running an Ultimate Racing Cat delete but that is a 2 bolt flange, as is the stock cat but the other end of the downpipe is a 3 bolt flange also. Why did AMS send that kind of pipe when even the stock cat is a 2 bolt flange? Did anyone else have this happen or know how I can fix it?

Go to the nearest muffler shop, they'll match things up and have you on the road in an hour. 3 bolt is stronger than 2, right? Different shop's custom exhausts commonly don't just bolt up to some other shop's custom exhaust.

Well UR's is matched to the same pattern as the stock cat, it is just odd how ams's came as a 3 bolt when the ones they sell with there turbo backs are 2 bolts according to their pic.

Plus it is sunday, any of them open?

you might have gotten a original design of AMS's downpipe which had a 3 bolt flange

Both sides?

If so how did you bolt it to your cat or cat delete?

I haven't yet. Tuning Techologies will just grab a matching flange and weld it up...

So it has to be a mistake, it doesn't make sense why we should have to flange from a stock or aftermarket flange. Even there normal dps come 2 bolt

Actually it's no mistake. AMS uses 3 bolt flanges on all their EVO exhausts. The only way to make it fit is to weld up a 2 bolt flange. I guess AMS uses the 3 bolt flange as it is stronger. It kind of sucks because everything else on the market has a 2 bolt flange, so nothing is compatible with anything AMS. I made the same mistake when I bought a high-flow cat from them. There should be muffler shops open, but the question is finding which one. Good luck man!

It is much stronger, I had the bolts backing out when I was using the two bolt setup, but with the three bolt, I haven't even checked the bolts in 2 months, as they never move. When I was using the two bolts, I tried everything, double-nutting, lock nuts, you name it, but they kept backing out during my 20-30 minute runs on track.

we dont force you to do anything. Even our turbo back exhaust uses three bolt flanges. It is what we have been doing for three years. You get a more even seat with three bolt flanges. you will also notice our flanges are much much thicker then anyone else i Have see. we have them water jet cut that thick to prevent warping. All of our components are designed to stand the test of time. the downpipe in our turbo kit was designed to bolt up to our test pipe / cat and our catback. Beacuse most customers that have our turbo kit also have our catback exhaust.
