sweet, i was wondering if it was worth the cost for the pipe, the stock one does get pretty small though so i'd believe it's noticeable.

I think the AMS LICP fits the left side of the intercooler, whereas the Bucher LICP fits on the right. I think the Buschur intake pipe take the nipple off the compressor housing, so thats why some people have trouble hooking up a MBC with Buschur's LICP. Since AMS LICP is on the other side that shouldn't be an issue. This is wat I have gathered from searching the forums, correct me on any of this if I am wrong.

I have no idea why its different. I cant speak for Buschur.

Ours is able to mate up to a stock or stock replacement intercooler, including our standard core.

Lots of confusion in this thread. The Buschur deluxe kit includes a repacement for the pipe that runs from the compressor outlet to what most people think of as the lower intercooler pipe. The Buschur turbo outlet pipe doesn't have a nipple like the stock piece. The AMS LICP doesn't replace that piece at all. When people talk abot hooking up a MBC to the LICP they are really talking about hooking it up to the turbo outlet pipe nipple. All LICPs are on the hot side of the IC between the turbo and the intercooler. I'm not sure if the Buschur LICP shown also includes a new turbo outlet pipe, but I suspect it does and that would explain the difference in the shapes of the AMS and the Buschur LICPs.

licp is on the OPPOSITE side of the intercooler as the upper pipe.....buying a LICP will in no way affect the upper pipe.

now, if your upper pipe is compatible with a new IC is a different question. it depends

Damn dude. I installed this on my Evo VIII in about 15min. I already had the undertray removed from earlier, and chose to leave it off. Not sure why you removed the bumper, I never had to.

Moreover, is this still a good mod for the Evo IX? I've still got the stock undertray on, so I can't really tell if the stock IX pipe is still restrictive. Still 7-10hp onthe IX? Anyone?

I did this mod along with their Upper Intercooler Pipe and Small Battery Kit.

Love the spool action!! Lower Intercooler Pipe took maybe 10 minutes to accomplish. Upper is a little different as I had the battery and recirculating my Greddy RS involved in the install.

I too installed the AMS LICP this weekend and did not have to remove the front bumper; however, removing the undertray was a real PITA.

Noticeable gains.
