the smart man would realize that perhaps the best way would be to call and ask if they haven't gotten a response on here....

Yes I understand that. Although am I getting the jist of things here that AMS no longer makes any kind of meth/water/alky kit?

Is there a reason you don't sell this kit anymore? Problems encountered with it? Meth isn't worth the headache? Or did you find, and now sell a superior product in the meth department? Please let us know.

We never "made" a meth kit. We have always used alkycontrol.com's products. As a company we feel now that Meth ,although great for power can be a fairly large liability. The systems that are out now work great but without a dedicated fuel sytem for it and several failsafes its something AMS as a company feels we should no longer sell.

We will continue to support our customers that use Methanol and the kits out there but we will no longer offer one for purchase from AMS.

Did something bad happen that AMS would not want to sell it anymore... I can remember a year ago they were trying to sell me the kit... the only reason i did not get it is I drive 20-30 k annually and it is not practical for a daily driver?

Nothing catastrophic happened we just dont like the potential harm it can carry. HP is great but we think the risk is just a little too high for us to sell one.

The risk is if it runs dry during a 30psi blast, or clogged, or anything that may not deliver the right amount at the right time. Really it is a fuel additive and the correct mixture at all times is essential.

Dont get me wrong, the results when everything is right is incredible. But what AMS is saying is they dont want to sell anything that even the slightest bit may cause failure or damage. Good decision IMHO.

The way I look at it is: How many gallons of race fuel could you purchase before it equals the cost of a alky/meth kit? Good ol race fuel is the safest and most consistant. Spend your money elsewhere.

Well put Lawrence,

The risk of something going wrong is very small, but at the same time much greater than a true dedicated fuel system. I've seen isolated cases with methanol kits in general (all manufacturers kits) that I don't feel comfortable selling the products to our customers.

Personally I would use a kit on my car but I know what's going on, what to watch for and what do to if something goes wrong. Again, I've had customers run on methanol kits for a very long time with no issues but It's a chance I don't want our customers to take.

Regards,
