evo9 cam install

I figured that I would post this in here since ams appears to have done several evo9 cam installs. some of us are not fortunate to live near a great tuning shop, and the dealer wants an arm and a leg for cam installs so I am hoping that someone here can give some hints/tricks to removing the cams out of the 9. I have done the 8's cams, but am wondering what kind of challenges await with the mivec head. I plan on posting up some pics as I do this for those of us not near a shop we would feel comfortable with doing the job..
any thoughts?

I have heard that there are some challenges to getting the cam gear off the intake with the mivec, and I know that it adds something at the end of the intake cam like the sensor on the end of the exhaust cam, as I have seen it when doing headstuds, just hoping the ams installer would chime in.
I have the shop manual on the way and plan on taking pics, but the more info the better.

IX Cams

Scott(TTP) and I did mine 2 weeks ago at my shop behind my house GSC 280's both. Not that bad we took the whole cam out with cam gear and swapped it over on the bench so oil would not get on T-belt. I used a stock cam gear to hold belt tight when we had the whole cam out. Just need a 14mm hex (allen) If you have done cams before you can do this. Sorry no pics thought forgot, then installed TTP meth kit after cam install. Scott's da MAN.

did you have to fill it back up or just leave it and let the oil pressure take care of it?

Your forgetting I helped, how many mechanics does it take to do a cam install

Anyway OP. Cam installs are really an easy task. It seems like it's difficult or very in depth, but basic tools, a shop manual which you can find easily via a search, a little common sense and about 1~2 hours of your time for the first time and your set.

During that cam install I don't recall we did it. If your concerned you can pull the cam angle sensor and crank it a few times till the oil pressure light turns off then plug it back in and your off.
