Valve seal replacement when I do cams/springs?

I am going to be installing my cams and possibly springs in the near future. Would it be a good idea to replace the valve seals while I am in there? I am not having any smoking issues, it was more of a preventive thing that was going thru my head while I was gathering parts. Car has 55k, just wondering what you guys have done?

Thanks!

If you are going to be there do it. I don't know how long the seals last on an Evo. On a DSM they were shot at around 100K.

No, not if you have a spring compressor made to work with the head in place.

nope, but if ur gona change valve seals u might as well take the head off and put in new valves too lol. pulling the head is a pain in the *** though. also to change your valve seals or springs without pulling the head u hafta pressurize the cylinder with compressed air to keep the valves up

Do new valve seals (oem or aftermarket) come with the little springs? I've noticed a lot of mine have popped off the seal and are riding in the valve stem.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm about to replace my valve seals as well.

Yes the new valve seals will come with new springs around the top. If you opt to do supertech valves, springs, and seals at the same time, make sure you put the spring seat over the guide before you put the seal on. Don't ask me how I know.
