need opinion from AMS regarding meth.
I was gonna call you guys but figured you might be busy so i thought this might be a more convenient option 4 u guys!
Anyways, I bought the Aquamist HFS-6. Just got it in the mail today. I know you guys, just like other companies deal with PLENTY of evo's on a daily basis. i was wondering what your thoughts are on this kit & meth in general. I dunno if you have alot of ppl running it at your shop or not.
Purpose for the kit is basically, where I live we dont have the greatest octane and I dont wanna situation like E85(which we dont have, but using it as an example) where theres only certain stations that have it. I like the idea of meth b/c I can run 91 for daily use but if i need that power, meth will spray - increasing octane to prevent knock and cool my engine down) so i can still fill up anywhere even if i decide to go on a long drive.
I chose THIS kit b/c i heard great things about it and alot of ppl say it has minimal failure rate compared to the other kits on the market today. I was just looking to see a professional opinion. Thanks!

As long as you have the fail safe setups installed and working correctly, meth is ok. I ran a 50/50 mix on a single nozzle. I guess for the amount of spray, it made decent power. Gained 25whp and 25wtq with that setup. And the nozzle wasn't that big at all. I would run at least one big nozzle or 2 medium sized nozzles. And probably run like a 75/25 meth to water mix. I would also run at least 2 of the big tanks. Once you start getting into the boost with that stuff, it can go rather quickly. This will allow you to go through a few tanks of gas before having to refill the meth! My .02!
If you are going to install an alcohol/methanol injection system on your car, then we recommend running a mixture of water/alcohol rather than straight methanol. The reason being is that if the system fails and you are running a water/alcohol mix, then the risk of blowing the motor is far less than if you were running a straight methanol mix.
The only system we have tested recently that worked flawlessly for us was the AEM water/alcohol injection system. As far as longevity goes, its only been on the car working for about 2 months, but everything looks good so far.
It's very important when working with these systems that you fully understand how they work and function. Also it is a good idea to make sure that everything is working and functioning properly over time to ensure proper flow and make sure there are no leaks in the lines.

With the stock turbo I was able to go from 23 PSI to 32 on a 10.5 cm hotside which basically pushed the stock turbo to it's limits using meth with a good failsafe...however on the AMS 35R kit pump only I was at 22 PSI running 470hp...with the meth kit on (2 nozzles 100% meth) I was at 35 PSI and 598hp before the clutch started slipping so haven't maxed out its potential just yet. If you do it, use a good failsafe be it map switching, a boost solenoid, something

Yeah I'm thinkin by the time I'm maxed out on the stocker. A built motor, and turbo kit will most likely happen at the same time. I really want to see a low 11sec et on the stock turbo, stock bottom end. Everything else will be touched one way or another. Optimistic about a 10 but will see how it looks when the build progresses.
Also once I build up I most likely will switch to 110 octane. I figure water/alky injection is the way to go for more power on pump.
AMS will be doing the tune.
