Cost for a Retune

Hi, I had my car tuned locally by another tuner... (using ECU Flash)
Last time i was in the shop (@ AMS) i was told that if i wanted a retune it was going to be 1.5 hours of tuning time labor...about 6 months ago.

I called to schedule a tune and was told that i need to pay the full tune price regardless of the tune that is on my car (it was not tuned by AMS) but the method to hack the ecu has already been take care of??

Did the policy on retunes changed lately?

thanks for your help guys

If it is your first time being tuned by us the rate is $395.00 for a flash on the dyno. If you are coming back for a reflash its $235 an hour and depending on the change in parts needed for the tune it would typically be 1-2 hours. This has always been our policy

Our tuner Chris is currently on his way to New York, but if you send him an email at

Chris@AMSPerformance.com he can answer that question for you.

We charge 395.00 for the first flash and 235.00 for each additional flash on the stock ECU for Evo 8/9.

If the car has never been tuned here then the flash would be 395.00, if it has then it will be 235.00.

$235/hr, for stand alone ECU. Chris has typically only taken 1 hour to retune my Autronic. If you have been there before and he is only fixing the tune that he has done in the past, normally I think he gets it done in an hour. They also have a pre dyno inspection option that is $100, doing this can alleviate headaches on the dyno. I always plan for the worst though, so take extra money. If he is doing small changes take money for 2 hours, if you changed major component like turbo/head etc or its a first time tune from him plan for 4 hrs. When you head home with green in your pocket because Chris is the man and does this all day everyday and can fix it quickly, you'll be happy. BTW all these prices are on their website.
