Service Engine Soon light.
Service Engine Soon light.
Im mike with the blue evo, had the clutch, downpipe, highflow cat and blow off valve installed. I was on the highway on the way back to school and the Service Engine Soon light came on. It stays on after i restart the car. Im guessing it has to do with the blow off valve. Also the car tends to want to stall quite a bit. What can i do to make the light and stalling go away? ( I do have the safc2. Im gunna call the shop tomorrow, but if anyone knows that the deal might be might put my mind at ease.
Also , the work is great, my car sounds amazing, and i can tell the difference in power. Im very happy with the work. Im glad that the forge BOV wasnt in, i really like how the greddy sounds. Thanks AMS people.

Mike, have been trying to reach you by phone all day. Try adding some fuel at idle to help with the dying problem. As far as the check engine light we will have to read the code. Call us on monday so we can resolve these issues for you.

I havent had any missed calls today, i already forgot who i talked to at the shop, he said that the light was probaby because of the high flow cat. And that tightning the spring on the BOV might help the stalling. I did tighten it, but its still stalling. Il be coming home from school next weekend, he told me to stop by on saturday so you can read the code. Since i talked to him the light has gone off. So did the computer correct itself? Everything seems fine besides the stalling though. Im loving the BOV. Thanks to everyone for all of the help.

Today I tried playing with the air/fuel settings and it didtn have an effect on the stalling. I took a close listen areound the BOV, and it seems like some air is leaking out somewhere. I tightned everything i could reach, but i couldnt find where it is comign from.

I was the person you talked to on the phone. There are rare cases where the flanges on the BOV can be warped or the gaskets can be bad. I can pretty much Guarante you that if there is air leaking out then that is the cause of the car dying under Deceleration. just stop by when you get back in town and ask for Eric

Thanks alot for everyones help. Simple fix, i dont know how i missed that. But i know it wasnt attached when i picked the car up. And at first i thought the stalling was my fault, getting used to the new clutch. Anyways, like i said, thanks to everyone.
Light is back on again...IT only goes on when ive been on the highway for a while. In 5th gear around 3300 rpms the car studders alot and the AFC2 shows alot of knock. I havent tried to adjust it yet. I read those threads about people taking a spring out of the BOV, do you think that will help it?
