Thanks for confirming all that for us, Shiv!

Humm guess that means that I in fact had them set right since they were not the
vishnu cam gears. I was really trying to figure out why they kept telling me they you must retard them 12.5 degrees. Just didn't sound right to me. Thanx for clearing it up.

George-- It also depends on which dowel hole you use with the Fidanza gears. There are two options: one for the EVO and one for the DSM. If you installed it on the DSM hole, you will need to offset the install by 1 tooth and then retard the adjustments 5 degrees. If you install it on the EVO hole, all you need to do is retard it 5 degrees.

My cam gears came with the DSM hole used so as result it had to be offset by 1 tooth. Thanks for clearing up the information.

Cool, I just tried aligning Tomei, HKS, and stock cam gear, and all the dowel pins and the timing marks lined up perfectly.

I really enjoyed reading this post and riding in Doug's car and seeing everyone(Shiv, George, David and even Noize) getting along and helping others with problems instead of the usual bashing.
