Evo here next year....hopefully
I just got back from Hyatt Mitsubishi, had the recall thing done, and according to the sevice guy there, they are expecting the evo 8 to come out here next year. This only applies to the GSR, he was unsure about the MR. The starting price will be $48k. Hopefully this is for real this time. Unfortunately the rumors of aftermarkets parts is still just a rumor, and Hyatt has yet to got anything substantial done.

The current Evo 8 is not eligible for sale in Canada. The front crash structure does not meet Canadian standard, and neither does the emission system. The latter should be an easy fix, but the former requires a stiffening of the front subframe, bumper structure, and a host of other things.
The '03-'05 Evolution 8 GSR and '05 MR share the same chassis, so none of these would be sold in Canada. Hopefully, the Evo 9 will undergo a structural re-design to meet stringent regulations up in Canada.

I heard there is going to be a 2 door coupe version.
and I also heard it is going to be available with Automatic/Tiptronic Transmition.
and I also heard it is ...oh wait.. that was a secret.. i'm not supposed to tell.
...okay, and the only color it comes in is PINK.

If I remember correctly, only the street-version WRX has a top-mount intercooler. The Subaru WRC car and the Neon SRT-4 use front-mounts. Unless the Evo 9 is using a completely different engine, it's hard to imagine the 4G63 to switch to top-mount.
The Evo lineup does include an Automatic/Tiptronic model. In Asia and the UK, it's offered in the Evolution GT-A with a 250-hp engine and 5-speed auto tranny.

So the WRC and SRT-4 with front mounts have stronger bumpers or frame support than the EVO??? Also how did the SRT-4 pass emission tests without a Catback???

Well the WRC cars don't need to care about safety in that sense. The main concern with the front mounted intercooler has nothing to do with real safety anyways. Its mainly cause in a low speed collision, the damage to the intercooler would make repairs very expensive. Basically another stupid canadian law. I believe the SRT-4 has a cat, so it can easily pass emissions.
