Vancouver Lancers
In regards to the RA vs. the Mazda 3 speed, a friend of mine just bought one, so we went for a boot and it was real close, but with me slightly ahead from the start and pulled away a bit in higher gears, my friend has also been driving mt for 3 more yrs than me

I'm sure you'll have fun. Make sure to take a CD and crank the stereo. That stock 140watt system is pretty good.
In the meantime why don't you post pics of your 1985 Toyota P.O.S. so we can make fun of it.

well, okay... so maybe 78hp isn't necessarily sports car territory... but... it WAS in 1932!!... *cough*... *walks away*
yeah, I'll bring a CD.
Thanks for that headsup. We'll see if I actually go.
cont. of RA VS. Mazda3..but now an OZ v. Mazda3
i have 2 friends who own a mazda three...one is the less expensive package....and the other is the sport package....but i pretti much left them seeing my taillight..and hearing my catback sound when i went flying off the knight bridge @ 170 km/h..and when starting off my car just jumped....they have the tiptronic thing..while i ride on auto=)........but i have done some performance mods...SRI...irdium spark plugs....motul engine oil.... to give me car a better throttle response...and stripping out the back..and lowering the car down to a 2 finger ride height....

Dunno if Graham (Graeme) is around, but thanks for your time at the Mitsubishi dealer, man
Much appreciated.
I just went to a dealership and I sat in the Lancer. Right now, if I could afford either, I would probably take the RA over the Mazda 3. Why?
1) RA has larger backseat and wider opening for the trunk. Mazda 3 backseat is a little cramped, and the opening (For the sedan anyways) is too small for my electric guitar. I'd have to fold down the seats to fit it (which the RA can also do... hehehe)
2) The Mazda has tilt AND telescoping for the steering wheel, where as the Lancer does not, though.
3) Mazda's interior is super nice, although I felt that the material used was not up to snuff for a luxury car, but definitely pretty okay for an economy car. The RA's interior is pretty simple and pretty standard. Materials used looked like similar material used in the Mazda 3. I can stick with a simple layout for an interior.
4) RA has spoiler and A/C standard. Mazda does not.
I didn't get a chance to test drive the RA, unfortunately. But while sitting in the car, I fell in love with the shifter. It clicked into place sooooo quickly!! Wasn't as smooth as the Mazda 3, but it sure was nice
