Import an EVO 8 into Canada? How????
Hi everyone. Well my old car broke down and I purchased a 98 Dodge Avenger 2 months ago. I love my car but it is heavy, and I want something with more power, also I want a car that is not fwd. The EVO seems to fit the bill rather nicely, and the turbo awd makes me excited, lol. However the problem is I live in Canada and to my knowledge these cars cannot be brought across the border unless there are modifications made. My question is what mods am I looking to have to do? I was told something about the windshield and front bumper???
I really want an EVO, originally I was considering a Lancer, but I want the turbo and awd. Then I thought of maybe an STI, but the EVO's seem like so much more car
. Unfortunately if I am unable to import one I will be stuck with an STI though. I was also considering a 99 Eclipse GSX (I believe that's the turbo awd version) and it is almost identical to my current car. But I still want the EVO instead.
So what mods will need to be done, and how much money am I going to have to spend on the mods just to get it legally into Canada? Thanks a lot everyone.

You will not own an Evo in Canada with out one the following 5 things:
1. You register and insure the car in the US
2. You bought it before it made the black list (too late for that)
3. You wait for an Evo 10
4. You wait untill the Evo your looking at is 15 years old or older
5. You only use it for track and shows and never drive it on the street.
There are no other options!
There is a big sticky at the top of the Canadian section.
