My sister works for this company in Etobicoke fogot what the company is called. According to my sister, If I ever cross any car from the US that are legalized. She could help me speed up the process. She could help me set up any custom papers etc..

So if anyone is interested let me know..I will see what I can do..

yeah I stopped dealing with those guys as they stopped communicating with me....they said they'd call me back but never did, so I'm going private.....I'm actually going to bring up an EVO8, see how it goes, and then maybe flip it for an EVO9 later.....I found someone that wants to trade cars with me and I'm going that route for now....The guys pretty cool which makes things easier.....I would have bought a car from this forum if someone purchased my car outright, but that never happened and I'm too impatient so I went with the trade..........I'll keep you posted if you wish, I should have it here next week, keeping my fingers crossed..........good luck shopping

hey guys,

Sorry for taking so long to comment, things have been crazy hectic.

Anyway, I did it! I found an awesome, lightly modded Blue Evo 9. I finished signing the papers today! It's in Chicago right now, which is painfully far away from B.C.

Unfortunately, it'll be a while before I get my new baby, because it's being sent to AMS for a custom tune/dyno first. I figure waiting an extra week is probably worth it, considering they have a reputation for being one of the best Evo shops in the world.

Now all I've got to do is sell my Stealth and convertible to pay down the loan....

As far as the insurance is concerned, it seems pretty reasonable. It is a sedan, after all.

I'll keep you guys posted!

That's really not an accurate way to determine insurance rates. It's reasonable there for now...I doubt the insurance companies have an idea what kind of car that is. They may think it's just a regular Lancer. But if you're of age with a clean driving record it should be all gravy.

I have been wanting to buy a evo for a very long time, and since the bumper law has been removed I am really wanting to bring a car down to T.O. So I have a few questions which I hope some of you will be able to anwser:

1) What paper work is involved getting the evo imported to canada? and which offices or govt depts do I need to contact for this info?
2) Whats your method of payment?
3) Whats you method of transportation for importing the car?
4) Is there a ideal city in America which I should be looking around for evo's? like the closer to Canada the cheaper it would cost to transport my car right?

If any of you guys that have already imported evo's into the country please anwser my questions as it could be helpful for all of us looking into buying a evo!!

Thanks in advance.

I found this article on the net. This might come in handy for people bringing evo's or other cars into the country.

Just curious if anyone knows how to import evo's if there was a lien on it? I know you would have to pay it off but how advance do you have to pay it off for customs to let you import it.
