02-06 lancers only have one bulb thus if you replace it with an HID setup you will lose your high beams.

bi-xenon kit might be available too. so you might not lose ur high beams.

Thanks Homie.....

and that's what i thought amby....ah well, its not a huge deal....i've had my car for just over a year, and i don't think i've used my high beams for more then 5 min

I would suggest you don't get HIDs for your car, the 02-03 housing is absolutely horrible for HIDs, the glare is insane and while the lights may seem brighter, it's debatable as to whether they actually help (since the light goes everywhere as opposed to where it should).

hmmm, really?

right now i went have the cheap cheap cheap mans version (Sylvania hyperwhites....lol)

would it help if i changed my headlights (not that i really want to......)?

You can change to a projector housing and then run HIDs. I swear I heard about a cheaper set of projector headlights being available now through DEPO. In the past a set of projector headlights was a 1000$ mod.

ye projector is much better. i told ray that older cars headlight housing oxidize or soemthing and its glares alot. depends on how bad it is on ur car. i can prolly hook u up with projectors.

It's not oxidation, it's just the design of the housing. The way I can see oxidation being an issue is if the heat is significantly higher. Even then, I would expect the plastic to just melt first.
