Ask yourself... Can our car do this lol NOOO
snow tires on AWD is WAYYY better than snow tires on a FWD car. Also my point was that it would be alot safer to have majority of the cars WITH AWD with snow tires on them, looking at the drivers we have in Canada.
If you don't drive like a moron, they're pretty comparable. Making AWD mandatory would be practical nor would it solve the problem, it boils down to common sense (which isn't common). There are people who drive Miatas in winter and are perfectly fine while some douchebag in an STI wraps their car around a pole because they think AWD and snow tires will let them do anything.
LoL
Anyways, that is a pretty sweet video. More informative videos like that but scripted in English on Mitsu's website and their commercials would probably bring them a lil more business.
i know it depends on how you drive, obviously! but im sure it would make it a little safer on the roads with more AWD cars. We get ALOT of snow out here, if we dont need AWD to be mandatory, who does? (minus people who drive in a desert)
Yeah, homieG.. I totally agree. I'm just saying if you know the physics of how a car handles on dry pavement vs. wet/snow-covered, you'll be able to make do with a FWD car and not "need" an AWD car.
I was trying to get a point across to a friend of mine one time who thought she could just drive the same way in both conditions as long as she had winter tires on (i.e. take off from a stop or start breaking coming up to a red light). She can't understand why her tires spin off the line or why I'm afraid to be in the passenger seat when she relies so heavily on the breaks during the winter.

^ ye understandable, it def depends on the driver at the end of the day. i own a FWD and an AWD car and i def feel more confident driving in winter conditions with the AWD with winters ofcourse. Its just about what you feel more comfortable in, you know. Im also not saying that i dont drive my FWD car all the time in the winter, but i definately would prefer driving my AWD car. Its definately alot more stable and taking turns is much easier too.
I live in Calgary, I know snow.
