~~~ TLC Spring Tire Group Buy
Since the Winter Group buy was a great success I wanted to thank all the EVO and Lancer guys new or old for buying in. Keep your invoices because it will score you an even better discount on Summer or upgraded All Seasons. Profits from the previous group buy have been reinvested and applied towards bringing the price of the next buy lower. There are 3 tires up for consideration in the Ultra All Season Class. I will get into Ultra Summer Tires later.
First up is the highly rated POTENZA RE960AS PP, some say its the best tire money can buy. Its superior Dry performance and its more then capable snow performance means, regardless of season, these tires shouldnt let you down. On tire rack, I think these are considered the top rated tires. Its funny because the Dunlop SP 5000M tires we have in the same class, are considered the worst in class. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS
So for price estimates have this tire down to $240 installed. The prices may very well go down as we look at supplies in the spring time. Most are expecting a over supply situation since most people swapped their all seasons off in ontario for Winters, the demand for all seasons should drop slightly. *note: Refering to the 225 / 40ZR18 for a replacement of the GTS Dunlops. Tire prices will vary for the EVO and maybe unavailable for the 16" Lancer sizes.
Second and third
the EAGLE GT HR
PILOT SPORT
If you have owned your Lancer for about 50,000 or 60,000 km then you know your tires are starting to look a little bald. Maybe they can survive another summer, but it might be pushing it.
If your thinking about upgrading to a better tires, post a comment, or question, maybe even recommendations for another tire set. This isnt the complete list and it may change, Also there are some asking for a set of pure SUMMER TIRES, so we are still looking into that
And yes , RIM deals are also in the works, as more and more vendors are talking to us.
I have heard the POTENZA is better rated for durability. I think has a 80k or 100k tread life warranty. try reading the review on the tire rack webpage for a better clue in the survey results and personal reviews
Canadian pricing will be cheaper for you since at this point your USA dollar is stronger. The pricing will be good. but I am sure you might be able to find some tire shop where your from that might sell their soul to give it to you for the same price. So I am not sure it would be worth your drive, or worth shipping it down there. I have driven to the border at buffalo so if your willing to go that far, then something can be worked out.
All sizes will be considered for the EVOs right down to the old school lancers from previous years.
cheers
