Thumbs down New premium increase

Ok so I just got my new premium policy and it is $900 more ... ... I never ever got any ticket or incident (*knock on wood*) so seriously that means other Lancer GTS drivers are probably crashing and getting speeding tickets left, right and center.

Seriously step (or post) up to the wall of shame if you are causing my premium to increase!!!!!!!

(Anyway so going to switch, banks quoted me at least $600 less)

p.s. Funny **** the insurance company tried to hide this by not sending me the policy, but I noticed it and call them up before my policy will be renewed.

depends on where you live. 125 out in Oshawa vs. 215 in Toronto North York . Its all where you live.

When i talked to my Car Insurance Industry contact, he said the primary reason is the tires. The winter has been brutal in terms of claims hehe especially for the GTS owners. lol the accidents instead of leveling off may increase on average as the rubber tread is crap in the second and 3 years of ownership.

Take a good luck at your tires if you have about 35,000 km on them. lol use a penny to see how much tread depth you have, willing to bet it aint much

I'm turning 25 this year (ew, old) so it should go lower for me. It's $104 right now, so at least it'll be under $100 hopefully!

I've been paying them insurance guys for 10 years and never asked for a penny of it back. You would think that would count for something but it doesn't. Your required by law to have it so they charge you everything they can to get it.

Go to your insurance company in person and ask if there is any chance to lower your insurance, make them look it up in their computer (ask an agent, not the receptionist). I did that and then got all kinds of rebates that they do not give automatically, I ask every year if there is something else I can get when I walk in to pay. Stuff i remember getting rebates for are.. long time customer, 4 winter tire, etched windows, car demobilizer, age and so on.... my insurance company got a nice list, but you have to ask..

Damn it is so much cheaper for women ... unbelievable. I like how insurance company just basically lump all guys by their age ... really brilliant and accurate. Btw what insurance company are you with maybe I should try it with them.

Btw I end up calling a few insurance places and BelAir would basically match my old policy. So I think it may be a case of my old insurance trying to screw me over since they got merged/brought out.

My brother got quoted $160 a month for his Nissan Skyline... (92 GTS)

And he's only 21...and that's full coverage...

Maybe it's all about where you go!

Yeah that's true. One of the perks of not living in a huge city.
