Canadian Evo X Insurance Thread

I wasn't able to find a Canadian thread specific to the Evo X so I thought I'd start one. I'm tired of getting absolutely raped by State Farm!

Post your basic details so we can all compare and shop around with some ammo to hit our agents with! Be specific so we can compare apples to apples... i.e. insurance in Whitby would be much cheaper than downtown T.O....

Age: 29
Model: GSR
Location: Downtown Toronto
Company: State Farm
Monthly: $300
Record: CLEAN
Options: Collision + Comp + Home Insurance Discount

I don't think anyone in their right mind would not have collision but just in case! It makes a big diff...

wow..that's a lot for a clean record including a home discount!
what about life insurance, are you with state farm as well?
you should try getting a quote from kanetix.ca and insurancehotline.ca

I'm with Motors Insurance (Smart Coverage Insurance is their exclusive broker) and when I first got my 08 Lancer in December '07, they gave me 275 monthly for a less than 25 yr old driver with only G2 license and 2.5 years driving experience..I have full coverage (collision 1k, comp 1k) and no discounts whatsoever..when I got my G (still less than 25) they lowered it to 230 a month but the rates of all insurance companies went up like October of last year so they jacked it up to 250 on my renewal..when I turned 25, the lowered it down to 203 which I'm paying right now..

so there goes my 2 cents..

1000 is high but the money he is saving can easily pay for it .

Are getting discounts for multiple cars and home? i think RBC offers up to 35% discount for home as well car.

$1000 deductible is high yes. But 99% of the time it is waived if your not at fault. To me is shows the insurance company that you as a driver are willing to take ownership if you screw up. Plus you would be very unlikely to make smaller more frequent claims.
I am getting discounts for multiple cars and my house.
I would say if you are getting quotes ask what the difference would between say $250, $500 and $1000 deductibles . What would be your payment then?

Well, went to desjardins last week, and for a used one (so no New value insurance but still full coverage) i got :

Age: 26
Model: GSR
Location: Montreal (Quebec)
Monthly: 101$ (1218 year)
Record : 1 crash (not responsible) and 1 hit responsible, no ticket.
Options: Full coverage, 250 / 500 Deductable.

Pretty decent price in my opinion, I think Evo has not been here for long enough. Si it's still cheap. I checked for fun and Sti was 2209$ ! (1650$ of the price only is for the steal part !) So even If I wasn't finding it ugly, 1000$ a year of save is enough to get an Evo lol.
