Tips on how to hide some wires.

I thought i would post here cause i don't really frequent the other sub forums on this site.

I have a Y-Splitter cable that connects a ipod/mp3 player to car stereo using the aux jacks underneath the AC panel.

My plan is to keep the aux jacks plugged in and hide the wire from the front and run the wires into the cup holders or in the middle compartment (i know some drilling is necessary). I just really haven't figured it out yet and didn't want to go blind into this DYI.

I attached a picture, not of my car, but it is kind of what i am looking to do to the car

anyone have any tips or tutorials on doing this possibly help removing the casing around the shifter and cup holders?

I know ive seen this done before. I think you will have to remove your shifter / boot to get the center console out.
DIY for ipod install

What you could do is drill a hole below the aux jacks and run the wire below the center console and up into either the cup holders or middle compartment. The middle might be better because it can hold you ipod/mp3 upright and you dont loose drink space.

Use 1/4" gromets to protect your wire from been damaged from the drilled plastic and it will also clean up the hole.
