@Polo,

Im pretty sure that selling both the Talon and the Civic will net you enough $$ to pick up a well-cared for Evo 8 or a high mileage 9.

As for wondering if a well modded Talon would keep up with an Evo, there's only one way to [legally] find out...

See you at the track?

Or, I can build up a 2G in Forza3 and put it against a stock IX so that they have the same performance score and do a run on Tsukuba, see which one has trouble beating the other's ghost.

I'll let you know tomorrow :P

@BBQman,

Im going to give them a call and see what the availability is for the track, but I've never been a fan of St-Eustache and Sanair, mainly because of that damn wall on corner exit. I've seen too many people understeer into that wall in 3rd-4th gear... then again there will be snow and I doubt it will even get the chance to get into 4th while going sideways lol

I would only have around 14-15K$ for the two cars in can$ so not enough funds to buy a well maintain or low mileage one. Eagle Talon have the worst car value I've seen next to Dodge or GM cars...

If I keep it I'll see you at the track for sure, always wanted to know how a stock evo would do against my car, probably not even close to the handling of an evo but with seat time I'm hopping to be close.

BBQman as an EvoX that is mostly stock for now, I think with is drivers skills he is already plenty fast at ST-eu. The asphalt is new so a lot better for track days. Don't worry about the wall, never seen any accident at st-eu.

When you say that you will call them for availability, does that mean you want to host a lapping day as well? Winter or summer?

As far the wall is concerned, I have hosted events there for over 12 years, and i have never had a driver have an issue with the wall , under my watch.
3rd and 4th gear corners at St-Eustache are rare , I am not sure what corners we are talking about.

Rest asure that St-Eustache is one of the most friendly tracks around as far as safety is concerned.

To be honest, I've only gone drifting there in my ae86 and with a 5.13 final on an altezza 6spd, 4th gear is visited quite often. Maybe I'm just pussying out cause I got the nasty chance to see a teammate (sponsored under cp performance) smash his sr20 swapped ae86 into bits into the wall. His feet were too big for the tilton pedal box he just installed and jammed the throttle while trying to brake... It was a sad sad day for that hachi.

I did not end up going to mecaglisse the other week. Im trying to diagnose and get rid of this annoying rattle in my fenderwell before getting any seat time.

Bbq man, I'm totally down with a get together of the Quebec evos at st eustache asap, winter or summer, doesn't matter much to me really.

Cheers,

Phil

Drifting at ASE and lapping at ASE are 2 totally different things. Yeah I have seen plenty of cars destroyed in the wall during drift events, but it is quite rare in lapping.

BTW, I have set another date for winter lapping at ASE on Feb 7th!

More details on MR forums, lapping section.

Agreed, it kinda sucks that I can't put my studded hanook ipikes to good use in this scarily mild weather. I am praying to the snow gods for a hard snowfall...

Yep it was me. Didn't saw you. Just enjoying the car everyday. Went to Lachute and the 329/327/364 pur délice. New roads over there and dry pavement with the sun sunday, WOW.

I still need a few things to repair, just going through the whole car right now.

Awesome man, glad to know you're enjoying it! I just got a gift from the Longueuil police in the mail... 150$ ticket for echappement non-conforme :P

I'm keeping it on though, it's the quietest exhaust avaialable for the evo to begin with, the Works Exhale Axle-back Muffler.

So when are we riding?

Man too bad for the ticket. Just had also just a warning in the city after the superbowl this sunday, two chicks in the police car, must have been in a good mood, no ticket.

Works exhaust? great, i've been searching the board for "quietest" exhaust and I'm just keeping the cat back for now.
Already bought DP, cat delete, LICP, drop in filter. Need a reflash soon.... Just don't want to go to harcore as my talon, I've miss the daily driving of it in winter and want to keep the car daily driving 12 months. But that what I've said earlier....

Just go to this forum, a friend just oponed a forum for Evos here in Quebec, where suppose to go lapping on the lake in two weeks,. NICE

http://evoquebec.forumactif.net/forum.htm

cheers

Ticket for exhaust- man that sucks.

I just installed a Magnaflow on the Evo X, and it is super quiet- can't see the cops stopping me for that...it looks OE.....hmmmmm
