Evos in canada

I checked the first ten pages and havent seen this asked so... now that you can bring and drive legally evo 8's and 9's into Canada im looking at them, what im wondering is any one with experience owning one here how is it getting parts, keeping it maintained, and owning a car that is so rare in Canada? Its either this or a new Ralliart, the only benefits to the ralliart are it being a new car and im guessing more reliable?

Hey, Im also from Edmonton. Its kinda late so i apologize for the short answers.

Experience owning a Evo is amazing, love it! Getting parts is the same as getting anything from the states. I hate how EVO X has more accessible parts in Canada then us but whatever...
Maintenance is a ***** cause no one really knows our cars, nor do i trust alot of ppl. Im planning on going to the states to get my big stuff done, not only a fun road trip but rewarding at the same time! Or Maybe goto BC, heard they have good ppl down there. Havent found alot in Alberta.

Like 10 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Flew down there, bought it, drove to Vegas, spent 2 days in Vegas, finally heading home. Good times

Parts availability isn't really a big deal, as most dealerships will be able to get the part for you. I wouldn't worry about that part.

@ go lancer go, basically buying the car was a great idea and it survived the long drive? Like its a fine highway car trips to jasper will be even better now?

I guess parts would be the same when my lancer breaks now im waiting 3 weeks on parts anyways, so in reality Its a fine car to own in Canada its not going to be much more of a hassle than the lancer i currently own which breaks at least once a year

Have you had rides in, or even better driven, both an 8/9 and a Ralliart? They've advanced the breed quite a bit.

The twin clutch transmission on the Ralliart is an amazing feature but I would not want to see the bill when things go south out of warranty.

just swap out the Ralliart's turbo with the Evo X's turbo and get it tuned, you will be more than happy with it insead of swapping cars.

ultimately you weak spot will be your SST, if you plan on running more than 400awhp, SST will be your ultimate downfall

whenever iam in london, my budies usualy drive my car, and they all go "holy ****! this thing is sweeet"

partwise, like everyone else said, u can get it off here. whenever i sell a part to a fellow canadian, i usualy label it as a gift.

working on an evo 8 or 9, in my opinion, its alot easier than the ten, simply because the manifold and turbo setup is up front, and alot easier to get to.
plus who needs a mech to work on ur evo when there is evom

cheers!
