Project: Dealer

Just to see if there was any new info on the evos reaching canada, it is always tha same.

So I thought, why not call all dealers in Canada? theres like 40-50 so I started tonight as theres nothin else 2 do, its a huge storm outside, nothin on TV. so I started.

I began with Ontario and this is what I got for answers:
roge, WOODBRIDGE MITSUBISHI:
Said u can buy an evo from tha states, bring em there, and they will make it elgible 4 registration.
Cost: 45-50k.

AUTOPARK MITSUBISHI:
Said they wont reach here

BRAMPTON MITSUBISHI:
Date: (N/A)
Price: (N/A)
Notes: No comments really, tho he said it will be cheaper to get the drive tranny and the engine of the evo and put it in tha lancer, inporting from japan, instialltion etc. will be savin about 10grand from buying a evo.

CAMBRIDGE MITSUBISH:
Date: 18 Months - 2 years
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Said it will be the RS only, which is interesting because it seems as if he was knowledgeable becuase he was sayin al the stuff that will be stripped out compared to the reg, evo.

COOKSVILLE MITSUBISHI:
Date: Guessed next year
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Tha rectipntionst sound outta it, tho she said they had 1 but sold it, though thats not what the sales person said, they said its prob. comin next year

DONNELLY MITSUBISHI:
Date: Spring (Hopfully 04 he said), 05' (it would be the evo 9 tho they said)
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Sounded confidient

K-W MITSUBISHI:
Date: Guessed next year
Price: (N/A)
Notes: (N/A)

MARKHAM MITSUBISHI:
(all reps were busy, try back 2morro)

NIAGARA MITSUBISHI:
(Closed)

NORTH TORONTO MITSUBISHI:
Date: At least 2 years
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Call service dept. 2morro to c if they can change them to meet Canadain requirements

ORLEANS MITSUBISHI:
Date: 2 Months
Price: Aprx. 42 k
Notes: Sounded confidint, and recipionist answered in Bilingual' (english - french) Not very meaningful, but cool lol. As well, im guessing that there brining EVO's here, and changing them to meet Canadain regulations.

PETERBOROUGH MITSUBISHI:
Date: 2007 - 2008
Price: (N/A)
Notes: (N/A)

SHELDON MITSUBISHI:
(Closed - Calling back 2morro)

WILSON MITSUBISHI:
Date: Saying might be 2005
Price: guessing 40k
Notes: Not very entusiastic about it, tho he's prob. tired.

Imma call some other provices tomorrow, and once Im done all the provinces/territories imma make like a chart comparing ansers etc.

I'd also like to say that Brampton Mitsu is prob. the best dealer in Ontario, tha rep was very evo unthisiastic about it, was sayin bout tha new ralliart, was kind and upbeat, N he can relate to us who an't rich, he sayin like ppl with mc.donland jobs can afford tha ralliarts, its all good, u can come ovr N drop some gears etc.

He was a very good dealer, once I buy another mitsu im goin there 4 sho,

Check back 2mrro 4 another province, and an update on the closed dealers in ontario.

-NaTe.

Man you must be bored. I'd hate to see your long distance phone bill after this. Hope all the numbers are toll free.

It will be interesting when you're done though to see what they all have to say.

Well just finshed Alberta, here is the answers:

HYATT MITSUBISHI:
Date: 2005
Price: (N/A)
Notes: He said that he heard speculations of 2005, "tho any earier not a chance". He said he wanted one himself so he prob. knows what he's talking about, and is prob. up with the current news.

PLATINUM MITSUBISHI:
Date: (N/A)
Price: (N/A)
Notes: The recepionist said there not sure.

SOUTHSIDE MITSUBISHI:
Date: (N/A)
Price: Guessing around 47,000 - 48,000$
Notes: Hoping soon, though not sure when.

WEST SIDE MITSUBISHI:
Date: Not sure
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Recepionist didn't know if or when, and the sales reps where in a meeting, (calling back 2morro, or monday)

Final thoughts: Well it seems that Alberta's dealers is a bit iffy like we are, and basically all the same answer compared to Ontario. Which could be a good thing, or a bad thing.
You Decide.

*As promised, Im doing 2 prov. 2 day, im starting BC Now *

Saskatchewan:

Dilawri Mitsubishi (Regina)
Date: 2004-5
Price: (N/A)
Notes: Checking into it, also looking into getting the parts added to make sure it passes the canadian laws. The dealer is going to get in contact with me mid-late january with any info they can get.

Also on a side note, checked with sgi, insurance is set at 1300+/- a few dollars depending on your +/- rating.

I thought it was low but i checked again and that was 1300 per year, basic policy, 700$ deductible etc.. nothing more, nothing less kinda thing.

If you want, i can start with BC tomorrow or Quebec (depending on whether or not you are bilingual ). we should have Canada covered by the end of next week.

Also, anybody in some of the bigger cities (IE calgary, winnipeg, edmonton) know of any really good shops for installing performance parts and tuning, there isn't anything in my area (Moose Jaw, or Regina SK) and traveling 8 hours to a big city isn't a problem. I don't really trust most of the shops in my area , and the only good on is a VW only shop.

Thanks

André
