Alberta Insurance

Hey there, first post here, anyhoo, over the past couple weeks I have been seeing a lot of Lancers in Edmonton, they look pretty sweet and Im planning on replacing my 95 Neon in the spring, so I swung by Southside Mitsubishi to check things out.

got a nice quote on a Ralliart and its looking to be a definate possiblity, however the one thing that I fear is insurance.

Im a 19 year old single male, so that makes me the prag of the insurance industry

Im currently paying either $2900 or $3100 for my Neon, and the quote that I got for a Mazda Protege 5 (another car i was looking into, which is several thousand dollars more) was $4500.

so I was just wondering about what to expect and if anyone has a good insurance company that they would reccomend

I'm paying $1500/year with good coverage in Edmonton. But then again, I'm 31 with a clean driving record.

I'm assumming you have a clean driving record here (no accidents and 3 or less tickets), and that you''re still 19 when you get the car.

So, if you're 19... you can expect to pay:
Third party liability: $4715
Collision ($500 deduct): $2030
Comp (with 13D & $250 deduct): $75
SEF 44: $25

for a grad total of $6845

Now, if you're 20 and still have a clean record then...
TPL: $3300
Coll: $1973
Comp: $75
SEF 44 : $25

totalling $5325

hope this isn't too startling for you....

again like I said, if you can get in with your parents insurance company and are still lliving at home you are proboboly intitled to some deductions and such, and it will probobly even be cheaper to start.

these quotes are from ING

RA????? **** I didn't realize these were for a ralliart...

previous quotes were for a 03 ES
I can't quote for ralliart because I haven't gotten any updated pages for my rate manual. Ralliart may be a bit more expensive for collision and comp, but shouldn't be much. I can give you a general Idea though...

I'm assumming you're not married...

TPL: $1525
Coll ($500 deduct): $728
Comp( 13D & 250 deduct): $75
SEF 44 : $25

Total: $2353

again, thats for a 03' ES. so maybe a few hundred a year on collision and a few more bucks for comp.

no worries.
at 23 you shouldn't have a problem getting written with ing... some companies won't right under 25 right now, but I don't think ing is one of them. If they try and put you in the Facility Market tell them to go **** themselves

glad I could help!

Yeah im getting the royal shaft by AMA and am currently paying around 6k a year. If i hadn't taken the in class drivers ed, they said it would have been 10k a year. But then again in an 18 year old male with his first car, so its expected.

Yeah, the insurance rates for 18-25 males are just plain stupid, sometimes just not affordable to drive if its gonna cost 400-500 a month just for insurance. I'm stuck on my parents insurance as a casual driver so its not too bad. Hopefully when i get my car, the rates will be lower.
