Evo VII/VIII to be sold in Canada?
yup there young hot shot sales guy told me all of this. But it could be conjunction. Aaron (the sales guy) who is also there supposed race track wannabee is setting up an eclipse with allot of mods for Bud Park this spring. He said he was getting one of the EVO's for himself when they get in.
But then its all hearsay
so dont take what I say at face value my friend. Research it all for yourself and bug your local
dealer yourself you never know you might end up smiling in the end.
Good luck

This is an interesting bit of news... from the info I've gathered, there will be no EVO in Canada for the immediate future.
However the Subaru WRX STi will definitely be here in the May/June timeframe. No official pricing available yet but rumored to be in the mid to high 40's Cdn. Seems like an impressive car but I still prefer the EVO myself. As for upcoming EVO availability, I'll believe it when I see it... I just wish Mitsu would get their act together and send this car our way asap!!!

Getting the Evo VII instead I can almost guarantee is not going to happen. We will be lucking if we get the VIII at all.
UPDATE: My dealer that was saying "We'll still be getting the Evo VIII this summer" is now saying "Not until next year." I still would like to find out for sure when?!

"It's mainly the bumper standards in Canada," says Mr. Gagnon. "The low volume of EVO sales in Canada wouldn't warrant the redesign expense at this point. We'll probably have to wait until the next redesign, when the car will be built for full North American compliance."

That would be really ghetto........
Subaru builds better cars than Mitsubishi.....Subarus cars have gotten better with every edition of the Impreza/WRX/STI line-up.......look at the evolution of the Impreza (no pun intended)
GC8 - 2.5 RS Version with Rally wing and aerokit
GDB - WRX introduced with a 2.0L Turbo Engine from the Rallies.
NEW WRX (Chassis Code) - WRX STI introduced and the "RS" is brought back as a 2.5L n/a with STI wing and hood scoop.
Look at Mitsubishi:
Evo 6 - Tommi Makinen Edition, arguably the best Evo ever.
Evo 7 - Great, but no special edition....people say it wasn't has hardcore or tough as the Evo 6.
Evo 8 - Cheap paint, no special edition, the FQ300 and GSR aren't offered.
See what I mean, subaru's line - up gets better, while Mitsubishi's gets worse....this is exemplified in other models:
Subaru is going to bring a Subaru Legacy 22B or a close derivative to N.A. - 220 HP I believe. A step up for the Legacy brand
Mitsubishi turned it's 4g63 powered turbo Eclipse with wicked styling. Into a xxxxx powered 4 banger or V6 with no guts, and a heavy chassis.
See where I'm going? Subaru is Evolving, while Mitsubishi is Devolving.....Perhaps the next Evo will be called the Mitsubishi Lancer De-volution IX....it will feature a gutless 4g94 sohc 2.4L engine and be two doors and based on the Colt and made by Dodge. Opps thats already a rumor.......
