group buy: RRM stuff

I am going to buy the RRM rear strut bar. I just thought if anybody else in the Toronto area (ottawa, etc if you want to drive down to pick it up) want to do a groupbuy, we can get a bunch shipped

not just the strut bar, whatever else RRM sells we can get it shipped at the same time

I would seriously be interested in buying a RMR strut bar, not the stock OZ one. However I live in Montreal. Anyways just let me know...

pete, i think you mean RRM, but the OZ doesn't come stock with any strut bars. the only thing that RRM makes to replace a stock bar is the rear anti-sway bar...

I think the way this works is that I will compile a list of parts people want, arrange to take half the money up front and I will front the rest. The shipping and taxes/duties will be split by people involved.. fair?

Guys save your-self a bunch of money. Contact Engineerboy. He can make you both front and rear sway bar. And that, for alot less than RRM no matter what kind of discount they give you for the GB. I've got the front bar from engineerboy and I love it.

He might even be able to get you a GB price. Even if he does not, you will pay a whole lot less than RRM.

RRM price is reasonable, i didn't know anybody makes their own sway bar.. you know that's different than the strut bar right?

while i'm not in canada I've heard its nice up there

-- you guys should really talk to enigneerboy about suspension upgrades. he can make front and rear strut bars, rear lower tie bars and sway bar perches .. and at a DAMN good price. It may not be powdercoated like RRM, but who cares? Performance for a less expensive price is great IMO!

I've got one of his lower rear tie bars and it REALLY helps. cornering is much nicer now.

just my 2 cents

We're trying to make you save a few bucks here. If the most important for you, is the name printed on the part and not how it serves it's purpose... then go ahead and spend twice what you could spend somewhere else.

I guess for me, personally, if the price is reasonable, I will buy it.

$99 for a rear strut bar that it's alrady made, ready to ship to me, it's better than $75 bar that is made to order and I have to wait a week or two for

to each their own

sillypuddy, i ordered my rear upper strut from engineerboy 2 days ago, we closed the transaction in less than a day, and he pm'd me the UPS expedited service tracking number this morning. this is actually faster than when i got my k-bar from rrm.

with your permission, i will post a review here when i get it in my car. us canadians get screwed on shipping all the time, why not source from a decent guy at a lower price if we can?

my total was $70 shipped, which IMO is MUCH better than $99 + shipping from RRM, for an (hopefully) equally functional part.

i agree there are certain parts that we can only get at rrm, and i would gladly buy from them in that case, but if we don't need to pay so much, why do we do it? for the rrm name? i sure don't...
