I have a few questions regarding the lancer/evo 8, is the chassis the same ie: the lancer they sell in canada , does it have the same suspension mounts/ tranny mounts, drivetrain tunnel to the rear end as the evo 8 sold in the states? The reason i ask as i am thinking about purchasing a lancer up here in canada, and doing a complete swap from the 2.4l mivec engine to the 2.0l evo8 awd engne/tranny combo. Ya i kow it is gonna be big $$$ but i have nothing else to spend my wages on so what the hell. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi andre, you might want to do a search in the tranny/drivetrain area in the tech forums, the US Lancer is the same as ours.

In short, no, the swap is too expensive and time consuming. Not one person has started a project of this kind, and no one will.

 

If you got that kind of money... get your-self an STI. Pretty much the same power, and you will save money in the long run.
