Dead Cobb AP

So I tried updating my CobbAP to the new v400 maps and guess what.....it froze up during the update. Turns out that it does not take a liking to USB 3.0. Whenever the unit sees any kind of power source be it USB through the computer or even the ODBII plug in the car the updating screen pops up on the AP and it is unresponsive. The computer does not recognize it when it is plugged in even though it is providing a source of power to the unit. I now have to send the unit into Cobb for them to fix it. Kind of annoyed about all of this but it is what it is. I dont even have access to a computer that I can make regular use of that has USB 2.0 ports so I can put the necessary maps onto the unit.

I sure hope I dont have to pay anything out of pocket for them to fix this....including shipping!!

HOLLA!!

Were you able to get a repair ticket set up with one of our CSRs? If not, you can get in touch with them at 1-866-922-3059 or shoot an email over to support@cobbtuning.com. This type of issue should be covered under warranty in most cases. I've been recommending for people to use an old USB hub if they have one as that will generally fix the issue.

The v400 maps are still in Beta release so are not included in firmware. Once the maps are finalized and pushed to a full release they will be integrated into Accessport firmware.
